Lauren McCall is a composer, musician and educator from Atlanta, Georgia. She studied for her master’s degree in music education at the University of Georgia and for her master’s degree in music composition at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. While at VCFA, Lauren wrote compositions for various ensembles including choruses, chamber ensembles, and electronic music groups. She has had compositions performed around North America and in Europe. This includes her piece for piano, Shake the Earth , which was performed in Morehead, Kentucky at Morehead State University’s Contemporary Piano Festival, and her graphic score composition The Fish Wife which was performed in Montreal, Canada by the ensemble Amis Orgue Montreal. In addition to composing, Lauren is the pianist for the North Atlanta Church of Christ and prior to working at the Georgia Academy of Music, Lauren taught at the Atlanta Music Project and the Lawrenceville Suwanee School of Music. Lauren is currently studying music technology at Georgia Tech where she works as a graduate research assistant developing curriculum for the websites EarSketch and TunePad.
